Our Beliefs & Values
At The Inclusive Christian, we embrace a faith that is rooted in Christian theology—a faith that is both ancient and evolving, grounded in Scripture (a.k.a. Bible) yet ever open to the movement of God’s Spirit. Here’s what we believe:
- God’s love is for all—no exceptions.
We believe God’s love is boundless and inclusive, extending to all people, no matter their background, identity, or past. In Christ, there are no outsiders. So everyone is welcome at the table. We are all part of the family of God—because God said so, and that’s enough. - Faith is meant to be explored, not restricted.
Faith is a journey, not a destination. We believe God invites us to ask questions, to doubt, and to wrestle with life’s biggest mysteries. Questions are holy, and doubt, rather than any kind of weakness, is a valuable part of the process of growing deeper in faith. This is why we believe faith should always be reforming—constantly evolving, open to rethinking and revisiting our understanding of God and Scripture. - Jesus’ message was radically inclusive.
Jesus didn’t just preach love. He lived it in ways that broke down barriers of race, gender, social status, and more. What’s more, he invited the marginalized to the center of God’s love. His message of radical inclusion is at the core of who we are as Christians. So if we want to follow Jesus, we must be willing to challenge our own assumptions, question systems of exclusion, and embrace a love that has no boundaries. - Christianity should inspire love, justice, and transformation, not fear or exclusion.
Jesus’s mission wasn’t one of fear or control, but one of radical love and justice. As such, faith should be a force for good in the world, moving us to advocate for justice, to challenge systems of oppression, and to work for the healing of all people. When Christianity becomes about maintaining power or enforcing rules, it loses the heart of the gospel. We are called to transform the world with love, not to retreat into fear-based, exclusive ideologies. - Grace is not earned; it is given.
We believe that grace is God’s free gift to all, regardless of our actions or worthiness. We cannot earn God’s love, but we can receive it. This is the heart of the gospel: God loves us first. Our faith is not about striving to meet impossible standards, but about accepting the grace that is offered to us, unconditionally.
